Ringback

Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated October 11, 2026

Ringback exists to let a business answer the people who called it. This policy sets out what that allows. It is part of our Terms of Service. If you break it, we may suspend or close your account.

Who you may text

  • People who called your business number, about their call.
  • Customers who booked through your Ringback booking page, about their appointment.
  • People who texted you first, in reply.

Messages must

  • say which business is texting;
  • keep opt-out wording, such as "Reply STOP to opt out";
  • be honest and relevant to the caller's enquiry or appointment.

Not allowed

  • Marketing campaigns, promotions or bulk texts, or texting numbers from lists you bought, scraped or collected elsewhere.
  • Texting anyone who has opted out, or trying to get around Ringback's opt-out handling.
  • Content that is illegal, misleading, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, or that promotes violence; phishing, scams or malware links.
  • Messages about regulated or high-risk products such as cannabis, firearms, gambling, payday loans, debt collection or third-party lead generation.
  • Collecting payment card numbers, passwords or health information by text.
  • Pretending to be someone else, or using a phone number you are not allowed to use.
  • Interfering with, overloading, testing the security of, or reverse-engineering Ringback; or using it to build a competing product.
  • Anything that breaks the law, your carrier's rules or the CTIA messaging guidelines.

Reporting

If you received a text you did not want, reply STOP to it. To report misuse of Ringback, email dale.weaver@0xpi.com with the number that texted you and the date.
