Terms of Service
Last updated October 11, 2026
These Terms govern your use of Ringback. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them and to the Privacy Policy, Acceptable Use Policy and Cancellation & Refunds Policy, which are part of these Terms. Please read section 6 (your texting responsibilities), section 8 (automatic renewal) and section 11 (limits of the service) carefully.
1. Who we are
Ringback is operated by Dale Weaver, a sole proprietor doing business as 0xpi ("Ringback", "we", "us"). "You" means the person or business that accepts these Terms. If you accept on behalf of a business, you confirm you have authority to bind it.
2. The service
Ringback is software for businesses. An Android app you install on the phone your business number rings on (or, for an iPhone, the Ringback Mac helper on a Mac signed in to the same Apple Account, which sends through Messages and your iPhone) notices missed calls and sends the caller a text message using your mobile carrier and your phone number. A web dashboard lets you set your messages and hours, read and answer replies, and manage an online booking page where your customers can book appointments and receive text confirmations and reminders. We also send you email alerts. We may change or improve features; we will tell paying customers about material changes.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18, use Ringback for a business, be located in the United States, and use an Android phone (or an iPhone with a Mac running the Ringback Mac helper) and phone number that you (or your business) control and are allowed to send text messages from. Ringback is not for personal, family or household use.
4. Accounts
You sign in with a link we email you, so you are responsible for keeping that email account secure and for everything done under your Ringback account, including by staff you invite. Tell us at dale.weaver@0xpi.com straight away if you think someone else has access.
5. Your settings
You decide the wording of your text messages, your business hours, your own and team numbers, your do-not-text list and your booking link. Ringback sends what you set up. Keep your numbers and settings accurate: for example, Ringback cannot skip a family member's number it does not know about.
6. Your texting responsibilities (important)
Texts sent through Ringback are sent by your business, from your phone number. You are the sender, and you are responsible for following the laws and rules that apply to your messages, including the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), state telemarketing and texting laws, and your carrier's and the CTIA's messaging guidelines. In particular, you agree to:
- use Ringback only to reply to people who called your business, and to text your own booking customers about their appointment;
- not use Ringback for marketing campaigns, bulk or unsolicited messages, or to text numbers you obtained elsewhere;
- keep opt-out wording (such as "Reply STOP to opt out") in your messages. Ringback records STOP and START replies automatically and will not text an opted-out number, and you must not try to get around this;
- follow the Acceptable Use Policy.
Texts sent from your phone count against your mobile plan. You are responsible for any carrier charges, and carriers may filter or block messages.
7. Your booking page and your customers
Appointments booked on your Ringback booking page are between you and your customer. You are responsible for the services you offer and for honouring the bookings you accept. Information your customers enter (name, phone, email, address and notes) is yours; we store and process it on your behalf to run the service, as described in the Privacy Policy.
8. Plans, free trial and automatic renewal
- Ringback (missed-call text-back with booking): $17 per month, or $170 per year, per business line, after a 7-day free trial. There is no setup fee.
- Booking only: $4 per month.
- Prices are in US dollars, plus any taxes that apply.
Free trial. To start a Ringback trial you approve a subscription with PayPal. You are not charged during the 7-day trial. If you cancel before the trial ends, you pay nothing.
Automatic renewal. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your subscription starts automatically when the trial ends and you are charged the monthly or yearly price you chose. It then renews automatically at the end of each month or year, and you are charged each time, until you cancel. You can cancel at any time, as described in the Cancellation & Refunds Policy.
Payments. Payments are processed by PayPal. We never see or store your card or bank details. If a payment fails, we may pause texting until it is resolved.
Price changes. We will give you at least 30 days' notice by email before a price increase applies to your subscription. You can cancel before it takes effect.
Agencies. Agency and reseller (wholesale) pricing is agreed separately in writing.
9. Cancellation
You can cancel at any time in your PayPal account (Payments, then Automatic payments) or by emailing dale.weaver@0xpi.com. See the Cancellation & Refunds Policy for what happens next. We may suspend or end your account if you break these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, if a payment fails and is not resolved, or if required by law. Where we reasonably can, we will warn you first.
10. Your data
You own the information you and your customers put into Ringback. You give us permission to store and process it only to provide, secure and support the service. After you cancel we keep it for 90 days, so you can come back, and then delete it, as described in the Privacy Policy.
11. Limits of the service (important)
Ringback depends on things we do not control: your phone being switched on, charged and connected; the app's permissions and your phone's battery settings; your mobile carrier delivering texts; and internet connections. Some phones stop background apps to save battery (see the setup guide). For these reasons we do not promise that every missed call will be texted, or texted within any particular time, or that every text will be delivered. Do not rely on Ringback for emergencies or anything safety-critical.
12. Our software
Ringback, its app, website and content belong to us. We give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use them for your business while your account is active. Do not copy, resell (except under an agency agreement), reverse-engineer or misuse them.
13. Third-party services
Ringback relies on services we do not run, such as PayPal, your mobile carrier, Google Android, Apple macOS and iPhone, and email providers. Their own terms apply to your use of them, and we are not responsible for them.
14. Disclaimer
To the extent the law allows, Ringback is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not give legal advice; the messages and examples we provide are suggestions, and you are responsible for checking that your messages meet the rules that apply to you.
15. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost business, missed calls or bookings, lost data, or fines and claims arising from messages you send. Our total liability for all claims relating to Ringback is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or $100. These limits apply whatever the legal theory and survive the end of these Terms.
16. Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify 0xpi against claims, losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your messages, your use of Ringback in breach of these Terms or the law, your services and bookings, or your data.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. For material changes we will email you at least 30 days before they apply to you. If you keep using Ringback after that, the new Terms apply.
18. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts in King County, Washington, and both parties consent to their jurisdiction. To the extent the law allows, claims must be brought individually, not as part of a class action, and within one year of when they arose.
19. General
These Terms, with the policies they refer to, are the whole agreement between you and us about Ringback. If part of them cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a right is not giving it up. You may not transfer these Terms without our written consent; we may transfer them as part of a sale of the business. We are not liable for delays caused by events beyond our reasonable control. We may send notices to the email on your account.
