Ringback

Privacy Policy

Last updated October 11, 2026

This policy explains what information Ringback, operated by Dale Weaver, a sole proprietor doing business as 0xpi ("we", "us"), collects, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it and the choices you have. It covers businesses that use Ringback, the people who call or text those businesses or book through a Ringback booking page, and visitors to our website.

1. Information we collect

From businesses that sign up: your name, email address, business name, business phone number and time zone; the settings you choose (message wording, business hours, booking link, your own and team phone numbers, do-not-text list, alert email addresses, booking services and availability); and your subscription status and payment records from PayPal (amounts, dates, subscription IDs). We never receive your card or bank details.

From the Ringback app on the business phone:

  • for incoming calls to that phone: the caller's number, the time, and whether the call was answered or missed. We do not record calls or their audio, and the app does not report outgoing calls;
  • text messages Ringback sends, and replies from callers Ringback is handling. The phone passes every incoming text to Ringback, but we only keep texts from those callers. Texts from anyone else are discarded straight away; the one exception is that if someone replies STOP (or START), we record that their number opted out (or back in), so it is never texted;
  • technical details about the device (phone model, Android version, app version) and when it last checked in, so we can alert you if it goes offline.

From the Ringback Mac helper (iPhone users): the helper reads the call list and the Messages database on your Mac. It sends us only incoming calls (the caller's number, the time, and whether the call was answered or missed) and replies from people Ringback texted. Your other calls and messages never leave the Mac. It also reports its version and when it last checked in. You can remove it at any time by deleting Ringback Helper from your Applications folder and disconnecting it on the Phone page.

From people who book through a Ringback booking page: the name, mobile number, and optional email, address and notes they enter, and the appointment they choose.

From website visitors: a sign-in cookie (only if you sign in); our own first-party cookies that hold a random visitor ID, the page you first arrived on and the campaign tags in the link you followed (kept up to 90 days for the campaign tags and about a year for the random ID; not shared with anyone and not used to identify you); and information from Google Analytics (pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser, using cookies). Our servers also log IP addresses, browser details and pages requested, for security and troubleshooting. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we do not set our own visitor cookies.

For our own sales outreach: business contact details that businesses publish (for example on map listings and their websites), so we can tell them about Ringback. Reply "no thanks" to any of our emails and we will not contact you again.

2. How we use it

To run Ringback for the business: sending texts, showing replies and bookings in the dashboard, sending confirmations and reminders, and emailing the business alerts and summaries. Also to bill subscriptions, provide support, keep the service secure and prevent abuse, understand how the website is used, and meet legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use callers' or booking customers' information for our own marketing or advertising. Phone numbers and text-message consent are never shared with third parties for their marketing.

3. Who we share it with

  • The business the information relates to: a business sees its own callers, messages and bookings.
  • Service providers who process it for us: PayPal (payments), our email delivery provider (alert and booking emails), and Google (website analytics). Text messages travel through the business's own mobile carrier.
  • When required by law, or to protect rights, safety and the security of the service.
  • A buyer of our business, under the same protections.

Ringback runs on servers we operate in the United States.

4. How long we keep it

  • While a business's account is active, we keep its information so the service works.
  • If a business cancels, we keep its information for 90 days (so it can come back) and then delete it automatically: callers, messages, bookings, devices, users and settings. We keep only billing records (subscription and payment records), as needed for tax and accounting.
  • Database backups are kept for up to 14 days and then deleted.
  • Opt-out (STOP) records are kept while the business's account exists, so opted-out people are not texted.

5. Your choices and rights

Businesses can see and change their information in the dashboard, and can ask us to delete their account and data at any time by emailing dale.weaver@0xpi.com. We will do so within 30 days, except billing records we must keep.

Callers and booking customers: reply STOP to any Ringback text to stop texts from that business. To see, correct or delete information a business holds about you, contact that business. You can also email us and we will help.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete your information, or to appeal a decision about a request. Email dale.weaver@0xpi.com and we will respond within the time the law requires. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.

Cookies: you can block or delete cookies in your browser. Signing in needs the sign-in cookie; analytics cookies are optional.

6. Security

We use HTTPS for all connections, store sign-in and device tokens only in hashed form, and limit access to production systems. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your information, we will tell you as the law requires.

7. Children

Ringback is a business service and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their information.

8. Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version, and we will email businesses about material changes before they apply.
