Jobber vs Housecall Pro: pricing compared for a small trade business (2026)

Updated October 9, 2026

Jobber and Housecall Pro are two field-service management (FSM) apps built for small HVAC, plumbing, electrical and cleaning businesses. Both do scheduling, quotes, invoices and payments; the differences that matter to a small shop are mostly price, users and add-ons. Every number below is from Jobber's pricing page and Housecall Pro's pricing page, checked on October 9, 2026.

Solo operator

On list price Jobber is cheaper to start: Core at $29/month billed annually (or $49 month to month) against Housecall Pro Basic at $59 (or $79). Both entry plans include online booking, quotes and invoicing. Look at what you'd outgrow: Jobber's automatic reminders and follow-ups start at Connect ($99/$139 for one user), while Housecall Pro Basic already includes review management and job costing.

Crew of 2–5

Close on price. Housecall Pro Essentials is $149/month annually or $189 monthly with 5 users; Jobber Connect for 5 users is $149 annually or $199 with no commitment. If you want Jobber's two-way SMS and job costing you need Grow, $229–$299/month for 5 users. Compare the features you'll actually use, not the plan names.

Answering the phone

Both sell an AI that answers calls. Jobber publishes the price ($29/month on top of Core, Connect or Grow) and says its Receptionist can text back callers who hang up. Housecall Pro's CSR AI is sold separately with no published price, so get a quote in writing before comparing totals.

Where each one wins

  • Jobber is cheaper for a solo operator, publishes its add-on prices, and lets you pay month to month with no commitment.
  • Housecall Pro includes more users in its plans (5 on Essentials, 8 on MAX) and, at MAX, costs less than Jobber Plus.
  • Both offer a 14-day trial with no card: try both on real jobs before deciding.

If the real problem is missed calls

If you're shopping for an FSM app mainly because calls go unanswered while you're on a job, you may only need missed-call text-back. Ringback is a stand-alone Android app that texts every missed caller from your own business number within seconds, with a simple online booking page, for $17/month (or $170/year) with no setup fee and a 7-day free trial. It is not FSM software and doesn't answer calls. It also works next to either app: put your Jobber or Housecall Pro booking link in Ringback. Details: Jobber pricing, Housecall Pro pricing, text-back with Jobber or Housecall Pro, Housecall Pro alternative for missed calls, ServiceTitan pricing.
