- HighLevel: best if you are (or hire) a marketing agency. Missed-call text-back is one checkbox in a platform that also runs your CRM, funnels and follow-up. For a plumber who only wants the text, it is a lot of tool and $97+/month plus usage.
- Housecall Pro: best if you need software to run the whole job. Crews of 5-8 are covered on Essentials and MAX. For missed calls specifically, its answer is CSR AI picking up the call; ask its sales team the price.
- Jobber Receptionist: best if you already run jobs in Jobber. For $29/month on top, an AI answers the call and texts back hang-ups, and bookings land straight in Jobber. It beats every text-only app here at actually answering the call.
- Podium: best for multi-location or review-driven businesses that want reviews, payments and phones in one contract. You won't know the price until a sales call.
- Ringback: best for an owner-operator who wants missed callers texted from the number they already have, at the lowest published flat price. Unlimited text-backs, no new number and no 10DLC campaign to register when the app runs on your Android business phone. It is the wrong pick if you want an AI or a person to answer the call, if your line rings only a landline, or if you need dispatch and invoicing.

- Monthly limits. Count your missed calls: a busy week in winter can blow through a 300-text allowance.
- Per user or per line. Field-service plans charge by user or technician; text-back apps here charge per business or line.

Do I have to change my phone number to get missed-call text-back?
Not always. Ringback texts from your own number when it runs on the Android phone your line rings on. Jobber, textback.app and textbackapp.com say you keep your number and forward unanswered calls to them; textback.app says the text then comes from its TextBack number unless you complete a number transfer or supported messaging connection. HighLevel sends from an SMS-capable HighLevel number. Podium Phones and ServiceTitan's texting run on their own phone systems or tracking numbers.
Do I need to register for business texting?
For apps that text from a business texting number, usually yes. HighLevel requires A2P 10DLC registration for local numbers, and textback.app includes carrier registration in its price. Ringback sends from the SIM in your own Android phone, which is ordinary texting on your mobile plan rather than A2P 10DLC traffic, so there is no campaign to register (your plan's terms and carrier spam filtering still apply), and it handles STOP/START opt-outs automatically.
